My name is Brianna Fischler.

I am a violist, violinist, and educator.

I’m based in Portland, ME.

After earning a degree in violin performance, I spent several years reflecting on what it means to be a musician in today’s world. Over time, I began to embrace the term “citizen artist”.

A citizen artist is a person who uses their skills to engage with and contribute to their communities. They leverage their art to address political, social, and cultural issues, aiming to inspire change, provoke thought, and advocate for causes that are meaningful to them.

Today, I am a member of Palaver Strings and the Portland String Quartet. In addition to teaching at the Palaver Music Center, I also run my own private studio.
